Project 6 was completed around 2 a.m. this morning. It is the remainder of the plying of the "knockin' on heaven's door" Superwash Merino from Crown Mountain Farms.
Project 7 was the Malabrigo sock, knitted for the shop, made out of the new Malabrigo sock yarn, 100% superwash merino. It's a yarn that we'll see in the shop sometime in the next few months.
Yeah! One more to go!

Looks like Tony has a bouncing baby 1-2 mm stone. It's apparently moving, so the decision is to pain manage and monitor for the stone for 2-3 days. If his pain gets worse he's to call and get better pain management; if after 3 days there is still no stone, then we get to try the next thing. He's working from home for the rest of the week. Fortunately, his pain management seems to be working well at the moment. He's just a bit worn out, and he won't be driving for a few days as he'll be on pain meds.
On the other hand,
got into her sleep study 2 days early, so managing the rest of the week just got a whole lot easier. Thursday is
's 40th birthday, which we are planning to celebrate on Sunday. I'm tired, but looking forward to a massage and a good night's sleep tonight as tomorrow is my day off.
In good news, I did finish project 5 of 8 today. I finished up the knitting on a bottom up triangular shawl out of a lovely yarn from Creatively Dyed. The shop will be getting yarn and fiber from this hand dyer in late June. I'm really excited! Look for pictures of the shawl on the shop blog in the next couple of days. I still have to block it. I'm still hoping to finish the remaining 3 projects of "the bet," but we'll see. I'm pretty run down at this point.

So, we went for the CT scan this morning, and Tony and I were reminded of the old joke about having the cat walk on the patient in the doctor's office: cat scan...followed by the dog walking around patient: lab work! (BAAAAD joke!) Anyway, the scan was quick and Tony is not in pain this morning, so hopefully the fool stone has moved off of whatever wretched nerve it was on yesterday. We'll see the PCP later this afternoon to get the results and figure out what's next.
Thank you all for the support. Yeah, we really didn't need one more stressor at this point, but at least kidney stones are something we can work with. :)

It would seem that life is not quite done throwing curve balls at me: Tony ended up in Urgent Care tonight. Looks like a kidney stone, his second time around with them, only this time set into excrutiating pain much faster than the first time 15 or so years ago. Poor guy, a pain shot at Urgent Care helped a lot, and he has vicodin to get him through tonight...tomorrow we call to get a CT scan, and an appointment right after with the Primary Care Physician (Dr. L to those in the know), and then we'll have some idea what the next step is. Consequently, my week this week is going to look very different than I planned for it to look.
*SIGH*
I'll try to keep everyone posted on the results. In the meantime, please keep your fingers crossed that it's a small stone that can be dealt with as painlessly as possible.
On a high note, I did finish projects 3 and 4 of "the bet." They are 3 socks (yes, I said 3), in a beautiful yarn from Creatively Dyed called Luxury. The pair is for me (project 4), and the single is for the shop (project 3). I'm hoping to finish project 5 tonight while I sit up with Tony. I'll let you know! Pictures coming tomorrow.

Two more hot off the needles today!
This the Odessa Hat by Grumperina. I knitted it in my own handspun yarn. The fiber is Crown Mountain Superwash Merino, and I carefully spun a 3 ply to DK weight. I have lots more of the yarn, so I'm thinking of knitting a matching scarf to go with the hat.
This is a fingerless glove for my friend, Ray. It's made of an acrylic sock yarn, and I'm planning to make him a cashmere pair later on.
Okay, off to spin for a while now!

Chloe will be out on medical leave for a while, so if N and I look like we're slumping at the shop, please prop us up with caffeine. We're a little stressed, but it will all be okay, I'm sure.

It has been a while since I've posted here...I've been doing most of my blogging on my other blog account. However, I have been doing a LOT of knitting, even if it feels to me like I haven't! I had a real coup just happen: the fastest turn around I have ever had in roving to finished project! I acquired, spun, plied, and knitted 8 oz of the most beautiful Crown Mountain Superwash Merino Roving, spun it and plied, and knitted it up into fingerless gloves and a ribbed watch cap for Kevin, all in less than six months! I'm so pleased with myself! I'll get pictures up sometime later this week in my flickr account. I'm so pleased!
