I had a really spiffy blog post all planned in my head...but sleep deprivation seems to have robbed me of my ideas. That's okay. Instead, I'm going to wax poetic about the wonders of Sisterhood. Okay, maybe not too poetic - it's been a pretty full week, and with one more day to go at Stitches West, I need to head to bed soon for rest.
I managed to arrange things so that I could still attend my Women's Circle tonight even though it is the middle of Stitches. I am so happy to have done so! It was a light and lively gathering and my spirit feels renewed and uplifted. What a marvelous gift!
I have spent most of my life not really having community, real community. There have been glimmers of it, and in the last ten years I have really worked at building a pretty strong core of friends and family. However, there is nothing quite like having a solid corporate (group) worship experience with like-minded people. It is so renewing and re-energizing to share spiritual experiences with other people. Solitary worship has its place, certainly, but I think that corporate worship is an integral part of my persona spiritual picture. I really do need community to truly experience some part of the Divine. Other parts I experience most clearly in other spaces, like on my meditation mat. Each type of experience is essential, but completely different.
So, I head into the last day of the show feeling a bit tired, but emotionally strong. Thank you, Sisters, for sharing our Full Moon tonight with me! Love, peace, and strength to all of us!
I experienced and couple of group celebrations about 10 years ago, and while they were not my personal "group" they were wonderful. It certainly DOES make a difference having community. I'm glad you had a wonderful time.

Thanks! I think going to Circle last night put me in a much better space for the last day of Stitches, too. :)
